Now this is what I call a bit premature! Normally, when the daffodils begin to bloom it is time to put on the gardening gloves and get started on something in the garden. This year, however, will be different as winter just — and finally — started yesterday, after October’s very brief frost, a mild November and then the warmest December on record! We won’t know until spring but it will be a miracle if we haven’t lost some plants and of course others will struggle after having their early spring buds and leafing destroyed by the cold, and heaven knows how the pansies will do. What is certain is that 2016 will be a spring of discovery and, for some of the GPC gardens, new beginnings. More to come on that …
